When is my child entitled to a funded place?

2026-27 Admissions – Applying for Primary One

If you are applying for Primary One for your child please be aware that the admissions for Aberdeenshire Council open in January. More information can be found on the link below.

2026-27 Admissions – Applying for funded place for early years

For children born between 19th August 2021 and 29th February 2024.

Application period: 8th December - 19th December 2025.

NOTE FROM ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL-

To improve planning and give families greater certainty, we are bringing forward the admissions process for ELC places for the 2026/27 school session to 8th December 2025 until 19th December 2025. By moving the process forward, we can better match staffing and facilities to demand, ensuring that every child who is entitled to a place receives one in a timely manner. The admission process is also an important opportunity for you to express your priorities and preferences for the location and offer of ELC services that best meet your child and your family’s needs. It is very important you carefully consider and identify your first, second and third choice settings.

Please note that you WILL NOT be able to apply online prior to the dates stated.

Self-Funded Place and Fees; are dependent upon availability.

Your child must have had their 3rd birthday the day before the new term starts. Please note the start of term dates change each year.

When can my child attend unfunded?

Unfunded places may be offered the term prior to your child’s funded place commencing. Places are subject to availability, are based on date of birth and waiting list place. Unfunded sessions are offered from 9am to 12.30pm and are currently £24.00 inclusive of snack*

*Fees are reviewed and set by our committee throughout the year.
